At least with a puncture you can patch it. I ran over a utility knife blade a few weeks back and it was terminal and the tire had like 500 miles on it.

only if it’s in the belted area. The first puncture I picked up was right on the edge by the sidewall. toast. about a month later I had two punctures in the replacement tire.

Depends on where you get the puncture. I had a nail to a through and through in my sidewall once.

Yes. I made an assumption that we were talking about the tread/belted area of the tire.

Right. I made an assumption that we were talking about the tread portion of the tire(s).

I live in new construction area, at an end to a cul de sac. They are building 5 houses.
I do it all the time - nails and screws everywhere, and to top that, I did it three times with my tires in the last 7 months! Yay :D

It is. I have particular problems because of what my hands have to do . They wrote me a thank you note and sent flowers with it when I moved from Michigan and left road salt behind.
I keep a bottle of Lubriderm at every sink and on my desk to ward off skin cracks. They not only hurt, they compromise skin integrity against the bad things they touch.

No need to talk to me about cracks (fissures, I believe is the technical term). I’ve had them all my life. It’s at the point now where I have just learned to live with it. Aquaphor is good for nighttime. I’ve also got steroid ointment for when it gets really bad.
